Oracle
Open source activity
As of Oct 28, 2026
Most of Oracle's recent open-source activity is its usual mix of developer infrastructure — GraalVM (over 21,700 stars, still Oracle's flagship open-source property), driver libraries for Rust and other languages, and Coherence, its distributed-caching platform. None of that is new or AI-specific.
The one genuinely new entry is locus, described as an "Oracle Generative AI Agentic Harness" — a multi-agent reasoning orchestrator SDK built around OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) that puts "an admission gate in front of every consequential action." That's a modest but real entry into the same agent-governance conversation machine.net has already covered elsewhere this month — Walmart's spending-limited Agent Gateway, SK Telecom's agent-as-employee lifecycle model, IBM's Agent Identity — each a different vendor's answer to the same underlying question of how to let an AI agent act without giving it unchecked authority. Oracle's version gates actions at admission time rather than monitoring behavior after the fact.
